Farm safety was the focus for a recent event at the Bantry Driving Academy as young people learned safe tractor skills on a Farm Safety course on our practice track.

It was all part of a training course organised jointly by FRS Training and FBD insurance in a bid to raise awareness around safety, and help prevent farm accidents involving tractors and machinery.

Mary Crowley from FBD Insurance said: ‘We are delighted to support this great initiative as farm accidents and fatalities still remain a huge cause for concern. Farm safety starts with our young people and courses such as this one creates an awareness of farm safety that they will bring with them through their farming careers.’

Mary Keohane from the Bantry Driving Academy provided the venue and facilities for the two days, and Jimmy Barry Machinery Sales provided the tractor.
