The Southern Star set out to investigate the issue of ‘boy racers’ in West Cork and invited the BDA to comment.

We explained that the majority of young people are careful drivers keen to learn the rules of the road and use them carefully. But we also drew attention to how hard it can be for young drivers to make good judgements about risk, and about the impact an accident would have on everybody they care about.
In the work we do with schools, GAA clubs and other groups, we work with teenagers to help build a sense of responsibility and good judgement. Our group training sessions are a popular and fun way to get the message across about the dangers of irresponsible road use.
