When students (from 5th class up) join us for a ‘Safe Wheels’ training session, they’ll have great fun working together, and they’ll learn skills that will make them safer for life too.
Cycling on the Practice Track
We’ll provide the bikes and safety equipment, and our practice track is equipped with everything from filter lanes and T-junctions to roundabouts. The students will get to tackle all of the challenges it poses on two wheels before they try it again on four. Our cycling instructors are trained through the world-class Bikeability programme, and they’ll teach your pupils practical skills in a safe, off-road, and fun environment. The work they do here might even boost your Green Flag record!
Getting Behind the Wheel
Once your students have found out how the road looks from a cyclist’s point of view, they’ll get to see things from a driver’s perspective. They’ll have great fun driving and braking on the state-of-the-art simulators in our Simulation Zone, and then they’ll learn practical skills in our Maintenance Centre where they’ll find out about how a car’s engine works. With your permission, your students will also have the chance to drive in a dual control car with a trained driving instructor on our practice track.
We cater for groups of up to 25 learners at a time, all activities are fully insured, and we can
customise the activities on offer to suit your school’s needs. Just contact us to plan a memorable and educational tour for your school.
